Wake Forest University Divinity School was in need of a physical identity on the university campus. With existing offices and classrooms in the rear portion of Wingate Hall, the owner sought to enhance the visible, unassuming north façade of Wingate Hall into an attractive focal point. The two-story addition of 2,350 square feet is on a north-south axis with Wait Chapel and Reynolda Hall. The Divinity School houses eight offices, with the upper offices overlooking a grand rotunda, which is accessed through a vestibule from the elevated portico. The original brick and limestone façade of Wingate Hall remains visible inside the addition adding to its history and splendor.
